The Eastside Montessori School is a small AMI associated school in Bellevue, Washington. We are committed to providing an educational environment within which children can experience the joy and freedom that come with independence, confidence, and inner discipline.
We are a community that values respect and compassion. We support the natural development of children and honor their important work of self-discovery.
We currently have two classrooms which are carefully and lovingly prepared to meet the developmental needs of the children in the class. The primary classroom supports children 2 ½ years old to 6 years old and the elementary classroom children aged 6-12 years old.
The beauty of Montessori education is its ability to work with the child, taking into account how children actually learn, allowing the child to fully prepare for their journey into society, and at the same time freeing him to fulfill his potential as an active contributing member of society. A love of life and learning follows naturally.
We are an AMI/USA Associated School, a status that recognizes our commitment to the highest standards of Montessori education.
Learn more about our New Elementary Program! We are very excited to have a new Elementary Program at TEMS.
This program builds on the work done in the Primary Program. Two necessary aspects must occur to complete the formation of the human being: the development of the individual and the participation of the individual in a truly social life.
The curriculum is based on the elementary child’s need to understand the qualities of the Universe, hence the term Cosmic Education to describe what it is we give the elementary child.

Montessori is a method of education that is based on hands on learning, collaborative play, and self directed activity.
Children work in groups and individually to discover people, places and knowledge of the world.
Dr. Maria Montessori discovered that experiential learning in this type of classroom led to a deeper understanding of language, mathematics, science, music, social interactions, and much more.
